PROBLEM
People desire spaces that reflect and inspire a happier, whole life.
These days, people are putting more thought into the spaces they spend the most time in, and in turn, are desiring spaces that reflect the lives they desire to live. With the increasing evidence supporting mindfulness, Creché Design Studio's goal was to provide spaces that inspire intentional living.

HYPOTHESIS
Wellness-focused Interior Design = happier, healthier families and communities.
Most Interior Design practitioners focus on functionality and beauty. While these are important design principles to feature, it excludes the individual focus of restoring mental health or incorporating environmental concepts to increase overall happiness.

Crechè Design Studio includes wellness-focused design practices based on psychological mental health theories, clients can experience beautiful and functional spaces that inspire and promote mental well-being.

CLIENT DISCOVERY
Next, I wanted to understand the local market better and how Crechè Design Studio would best serve its clients.
I surveyed the following type of clients:
Doctors
Students
Faculty
Caregivers
Here are a few survey questions:
Have you ever worked with an interior designer before?
%20(24).png)
Are you satisfied with your current space?
%20(25).png)
What is your biggest frustration with your space now?
"My home is not functional for my growing family and storage is always a challenge to figure out."
- Josh M., MD
"I need a relaxing space where I can decompress at the end of the day."
- Cary R., NP
"My space isn't inspiring enough. I often feel cramped and depressed because there isn't much room and not a lot of natural light."
- Lauren B., Student
RERTURN TO JOURNEY MAP
After conducting client surveys, I realized we were excluding a key demographic.
I found that many clients who were homeowners and owned multiple properties were looking for ways to turn their homes into investment properties. This was a key discovery given the proximity to major universities in the area attracting students, faculty, and health care providers in training to neighboring cities. Clients wanted to take advantage of this growth and uptake in real estate by using thoughtful interior design to attract responsible tenants.

The user journey for home staging and styling for rental properties would look like:
Have a property available for lease
Be motivated to update space to attract tenants and get ROI
Look for a home staging & rental interior designer
Select a designer with experience in rental property staging
